Anne Valentine Andrews

Aromar Revi

Aromar Revi is the founding Director of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS). He is a global practice and thought leader, educator and institution builder with four decades of interdisciplinary experience in sustainable development, governance, economics and finance, sustainable cities, climate change and disaster risk reduction. Aromar is an expert on global environmental and climate change. He was a Coordinating Lead Author of the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C (2018) and of the Working Group II synthesis chapter on Climate Resilient Development Pathways of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6, 2022) and he helped bring the global urban and climate agendas together, as a member of the core team responsible for the Summary for Urban Policymakers series that translates the IPCC reports of the AR6 Cycle for urban policymakers. Aromar has led over 220 major consulting and research assignments, is a widely cited scholar across multiple fields, has lectured at 100 of the world's leading universities across six continents; and helped structure, design and review development investments of over $15 billion.

Assoc Prof Winston Chow

Dr. Winston Chow is a Lee Kong Chian Research Fellow and an Associate Professor of Urban Climate in Singapore Management University's (SMU) College of Integrative Studies. Winston researches and educates on climate change impacts on cities, and was a Lead Author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's 6th Assessment Report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability on climate issues affecting settlements and their infrastructure. Dr. Chow is a principal investigator in the ongoing Cooling Singapore Initiative, leading research into how a digital urban twin enables sustainable and climate-resilient urban design, as well as assessing how urban heat risks can be minimised for the city-state of Singapore under a warming climate. In SMU, Dr. Chow teaches interdisciplinary courses on climate change and urban sustainability that considers how these topics can be managed both globally and locally. He tweets often about climate and other issues at @winstontlchow.

Assoc Prof Zelina Zaiton

Zelina Zaiton Ibrahim is an environmental scientist with expertise ranging from catchment, lake, estuarine and coastal processes. She has more than 30 years' experience as an academician at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is Chair, Technical Committee on Climate Change, and Chair, Technical Committee on Environmental Performance Evaluation, under the Malaysian National Standards Committee 26 on Environmental Management. Zelina was a Coordinating Lead Author for Chapter 16: Key Risks across Sectors and Regions, of the Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability) contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report; an expert member of the Academy of Science Malaysia Task Force on Climate Change Impact and Adaptation, under the Water Sector Transformation 2040 (WST2040) Study; and Vice-Chair of Sub-Committee 7 on Greenhouse Gas Management and Related Activities (ISO/TC207/SC 7), Technical Committee 207 on Environmental Management, under the International Organization for Standardisation.

Audrey Tan

Benedict Chia

Mr Benedict Chia is Director for Strategic Issues in the National Climate Change Secretariat, Strategy Group in the Prime Minister's Office of Singapore. He oversees economic research and low carbon technology development. Prior to that, he has served in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in Singapore.

Benjamin Soh

Benjamin Soh is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Hashstacs, a Singapore-headquartered ESG FinTech company. Hashstacs partners with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for ESGpedia, which powers the ESG Registry of the MAS' Project Greenprint. Hashstacs serves as the Nexus of ESG Finance with its live blockchain infrastructure that enables effective Sustainable Finance. Its clients and partners include global banks, exchanges, asset managers, corporates, and SMEs.

A serial FinTech entrepreneur who previously founded a multinational, regulated B2B FinTech serving the needs of more than 100 financial services firms worldwide, Ben's personal purpose is to bring about positive change in the world with technology. Such passion and calling drove him to get back into full-time entrepreneurial action with Hashstacs, where he aims to accelerate the future of Sustainable Finance. Ben is also currently serving as the Chairman of the Green and Sustainable FinTech Sub-Committee of the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA).

Chandni Singh

Chandni Singh is a Senior Researcher at the School of Environment and Sustainability, Indian Institute for Human Settlements. She works at the intersection of climate change adaptation and sustainable development in the Global South. Her work focuses on understanding differential vulnerability to climate change, the barriers and enablers to adaptation, and inclusive migration, with a regional focus on South Asia. She is Coordinating Lead Author on Adaptation Effectiveness for UNEP's Adaptation Gap Report 2022 and Lead Author on the IPCC 2022 Assessment Report 6, Chapter 10 on 'Asia'. Chandni currently serves on the Science Committee for Adaptation Futures 2023 and on the editorial boards of Regional Environmental Change, Urbanisation, and WIREs Climate Change.

Charles Koh

As the Chief Digital Officer at Sembcorp, Mr Koh drives the Group's digitalisation journey. In his role, he leads the transformation and integration of all business processes onto data- and AI-driven platforms to enhance operational efficiency, increase profitability and mitigate risks.

While at Sembcorp, Mr Koh has spearheaded many digital initiatives including founding GoNetZero^TM, a one-stop renewable energy and carbon management solutions platform, aimed to support corporates in their decarbonisation journeys.

He has more than 25 years of track record in leading and developing digital businesses in various senior roles across the energy, financial, hospitality, logistics and consulting sectors in companies such as Temasek Holdings, McKinsey & Company and PepsiCo. Prior to Sembcorp, Mr Koh led the Future Ready and Future of Work platforms at DBS Bank, a leading financial services group in Asia. He was responsible for 5G, blockchain and IoT applications in cross-industry ecosystems and digital fulfilment via Conversational Artificial Intelligence at the bank. He also founded a tech start-up which he took to profitability.

Mr Koh holds a BSc in Economics and Management from the London School of Economics, UK.

Chee Zhi Kin

Zhi Kin was brought up in a small town in Malaysia, with fruit trees, local vegetables and herbs growing in his family's backyard. He recalls being immersed in a community profoundly intertwined with food; where food fueled conversations and camaraderie. Living off the land and building communities has always been ingrained in him but laid dormant till his stint with a Foundation in Lao PDR to introduce experimental farms in the remote villages.

Upon his return to Singapore, he cofounded City Sprouts, a raiSE-accredited social enterprise whose goal is to inspire communities through green spaces and programs. Over the pandemic, City Sprouts has repurposed 2 community space, one a defunct secondary school and another an underutilized rooftop space. In the pursuit to scale their social impact and build more resilient urban communities, City Sprouts' programs explore the intersections between community development, sustainability and food security.

Cheryl Lee

Cheryl Lee is a passionate advocate for environmental action and has led various environmental youth forums, workshops and projects. Cheryl champions climate action at #Up2degrees and commits her time to encouraging people to reduce energy consumption and to pledge their commitment to turn up their air conditioners by two degrees Celsius.

This includes coordinating environmental outreach activities at the Singapore Eco Film Festival since 2016 and arranging the screening of the climate change documentary, 'The Cold Truth', at events such as Earthfest and the Global Warming Escape Party BYOB by Kampong. She has given 60 talks on climate action to community partners and schools since 2016 as part of her work with the youth interest group, Singapore Youth for Climate Action.

Cindy Khoo

Cindy Khoo is currently serving as 1 Deputy Secretary at the Singapore Prime Minister's Office - Strategy Group.

She started her career in the Singapore Public Service in the Ministry of Trade and Industry as a trade officer. Since then she has handled multiple portfolios in the Ministry of Health, Prime Minister's Office - Public Service Division and Ministry of Education. She first joined Strategy Group in 2019 and oversaw functions such as Strategic Planning; Futures; and Organisational Development, before taking on the Deputy Secretary role in Sep 2021.

Prior to joining the Singapore Public Service, she worked in SembCorp Logistics in Shanghai. She holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an A.B. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Cindy Levy

Cindy is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, London, and previously led the firm's global Risk & Resilience Practice and the Financial Services Practice in the UK. She is an elected member of the firm's Shareholders Council and co-chair of the senior partner election committee.

Cindy has extensive experience in helping financial institutions address their most complex business challenges, with a particular focus on risk strategy, enterprise risk management, and risk culture. She has worked on multiple commercial strategy engagements for banks across the trading, investment banking, corporate/commercial banking and innovative retail businesses. She also maintains a focus on climate risk and sustainability, working with companies to capture the opportunities and mitigate the risks posed by climate change and other sustainability issues through strategy and risk-capability development, portfolio restructuring and digital tools. She was also Leader of Green Finance initiatives for COP26 in McKinsey, where she spearheaded the Taskforce for Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets and the Portfolio Alignment team.

Cindy holds a degree in Economics from Harvard University & an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Dr Dalal Alghawas

Dale Hardcastle is a partner with Bain and Company where he leads both global carbon market and nature based solutions efforts and is co-director of its Global Sustainability Innovation Center (GSIC) in Singapore, an ESG-focused center established to help companies accelerate time to impact in sustainability strategies.

This work to enable corporate climate action is backstopped by two decades of experience working across leading global energy and natural resource companies, food systems, mobility, private equity and technology players. He has led scale transformation efforts - including those to address the energy transition, corporate venturing, de-carbonization, sustainability, and the venture innovation.

Dale has also worked with multiple strategic associations in ASEAN, the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and globally with the World Economic Forum and the World Business Council on Sustainable Development on sustainability efforts.

David Antonioli

David Wong

David is the Deputy Director of the Asia Pacific Network for the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). He drives the strategic and corporate development of the APAC office, and leads the Network's work on the managed phaseout of coal power generation assets in APAC. David also supports the development of capacity-building programmes to assist regional financial institutions in developing and implementing their net-zero transition plans.

David is concurrently a management consultant at Bain & Company, and an Associate Fellow at the National University of Singapore in Tembusu College. Prior to GFANZ and Bain, David held various positions in the Singapore public service and the wider infrastructure ecosystem, including Enterprise Singapore, Infrastructure Asia, as well as a stint as Assistant Vice President at Sembcorp Design & Construction.

David holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Political Science) from the National University of Singapore, and a MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford.

Dian Anderson

Dian is the Associate Director of EB Impact, a non-profit based in Singapore dedicated to delivering training and programmes that advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

She has lived in the South-East Asian region for the majority of her life and is passionate about overcoming social challenges apparent today and is committed to discovering and supporting social innovations in the region. She is also particularly passionate on issues regarding youth, female and minority representation in sustainability conversations, as well as development issues faced in Indonesia; Dian is proudly half Indonesian herself.

Dian has experience in driving systems-changing approaches within education and youth engagement through different initiatives. Alongside this, her professional experience has permitted her to work with the public sector, philanthropic circles and social entrepreneurs on a range of cross-cutting issues and impactful programmes.

Yeo Zhiquan

Yeo Zhiquan is the Acting Deputy Division Director of the Sustainability and Life Cycle Engineering Division at A*STAR SIMTech. Over the past thirteen years, he has been actively involved in industry and research projects that promotes industrial sustainability, ranging from Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies to data science applications for enabling industrial symbiosis and circular economy activities. Zhiquan is also involved in knowledge transfer activities to the industry through developing and conducting carbon footprint assessment courses. He is also one of the co-developers of SIMTech's first carbon footprint assessment software tailored for industry users.

Zhiquan is currently appointed as the Singapore representative for the Sustainability Certification Scheme Evaluation Group supporting the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). He also serves as the Convenor for the Working Group on Greenhouse Gas and Product Life Cycle Assessment under the Singapore Standardisation Programme.

Elaine Cheung

Elaine J Cheung is a purpose-driven CFO and Board Director, helping companies fulfil their commitments to environmental and social sustainability through profitable strategies. Her corporate experience across multiple industries along with board roles at the UN World Food Programme, 2020 Nobel Peace Laureate, and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), give her deep insights into moving beyond shareholder to stakeholder capitalism.

Elaine is the CFO at Nurasa, Temasek's Asia Sustainable Foods platform, providing solutions and support to aspiring food-tech companies at every stage of their growth cycle; a purpose-led mission to use catalytic capital to address Asia's food challenge.

Eleni Myrivili

Eleni Myrivili wants cities to prepare for extreme heat by developing and adopting climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. For her, this work starts in her home city of Athens, where she was appointed Europe's first Chief Heat Officer in 2021. She's been using the position to raise awareness of the dangers of extreme heat and co-create and co-design a greener, cooler future for all.

In June 2022, through her role as a senior advisor at Arsht Rock Resilience Center and following an MoU Arsht Rock signed with the UN-Habitat, she was named the first-ever Global Chief Heat Officer to work in promoting a heat resilience agenda at UN-Habitat, the United Nations' program for human settlements and sustainable urban development.

Myrivili has advocated for an environmental, nature-positive, and climate-neutral agenda for more than two decades. A tenured assistant professor at the University of the Aegean, she was elected and has served as Deputy Mayor for the City of Athens where she designed the "Athens Resilience Strategy for 2030" with the collaboration of hundreds of Athens residents.

Eric Lim

Mr Eric Lim is Managing Director and the Chief Sustainability Officer at United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB). His role is to drive UOB's sustainability strategy and objectives of helping businesses and individual transition to a sustainable future and fostering social and environmental well-being among colleague and communities.

Eric is also the Head of Group Finance and is responsible for the Bank's core finance functions.

Eric holds positions in other key UOB management committees, including Chairperson of the Group Sustainability Committee. He is also a member of the Asset and Liability Committee and the Management Committee, and holds directorships in UOB affiliated companies

Prior to joining UOB, Eric was Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Finance, Singapore and Southeast Asia for Standard Chartered Bank.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Esther An

A sustainability practitioner for over two decades, Esther published the first sustainability report in Singapore in 2008 and issued the first green bond by a Singapore company in 2017. Conferred the 2018 SDG Pioneer for Green Infrastructure and A Low Carbon Economy by the UN Global Compact and named a G20 EMPOWER Advocate in 2022, Esther sits on the boards or advisory platforms of international organizations including the Global Reporting Initiative, GRESB Foundation Board, World Green Building Council Corporate Advisory Board and UN PRI Real Estate Advisory Committee.

Esther also chairs the following Committees: Singapore Sustainability Reporting Advisory Committee, Asia Pacific Real Estate Association's ESG Committee, Urban Land Institute Singapore's Sustainability Product Council and Vice-chair of the Singapore Institute of Directors' ESG Committee.

She founded Women4Green and Youth4Climate networks to empower women and youths to champion climate action and sustainable development.

Leveraging on 8 years of sales and business development experience at Google, Salesforce, and UL, Fengru's entrepreneurial acumen now drives TurtleTree's mission to change sustainable nutrition forever.

Foo Cexiang

Mr Foo was appointed Director (Futures & Transformation), in the Ministry of Transport on 15 March 2022. He oversees the Ministry's sustainability, supply chain connectivity, as well as research and transformation agendas and the development of the ecosystem for electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned aircraft vehicles in Singapore.

Prior to his appointment as Director (F&T), Mr Foo was Senior Deputy Director (Planning & International Cooperation) in the Ministry of Education, where he oversaw the Ministry's international relations agenda, as well as developed education policy. He also had earlier stints in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and JTC Corporation.

Mr Foo has a Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) in City & Regional Planning from Cardiff University, and a Master of Engineering Leadership in Urban Systems from the University of British Columbia.

Frederick Teo

Frederick is Chief Executive of GenZero. In this role, he oversees the direction of the company and leads the execution of strategies to achieve both climate impact and sustainable long-term financial returns.

Prior to his appointment at GenZero, Fred held various leadership positions in Sustainability, Portfolio Management and Business Continuity Management in his 12 years at Temasek International. As Managing Director of Sustainable Solutions, he conceived capability programmes in clean energy, urban, and climate and nature solutions. He led and established Singapore's first brownfield distributed district cooling retrofit in partnership with SP Group.

Fred worked on value creation projects with SingTel and MediaCorp. In 2014, he partnered Temasek Foundation to execute a nationwide delivery of mask kits during a severed haze episode.

Fred holds a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and a BA and MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Lincoln College, Oxford University.

Grace Fu

Ms Grace Fu is Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment. Prior to her current appointment, she was the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and held various positions at the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development.

Ms Fu began her career with the Overseas Union Bank and was the Chief Executive Officer of PSA Southeast Asia and Japan before joining the public sector.

In 2015, Ms Fu was appointed Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Leader of the House.

In July 2020, Ms Fu was appointed Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.

Ms Fu is a member of the Central Executive Committee of the People's Action Party and holds the appointment of Organising Secretary.

Grace Sai

Grace is the Co-founder and CEO of Unravel Carbon, an enterprise software that helps companies track and reduce their carbon emissions, backed by Sequoia and Y Combinator.

Grace was a 2 times exited founder, and a VC, a Kauffman Fellow and is widely regarded as a node of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Asia.

She has been nominated as Gen T by Singapore Tatler (2018), Great Women of our Times by Women's Weekly (2017), and is a UN Women Entrepreneurship Day Ambassador.

She holds two Master's degrees with Distinction from Oxford and INSEAD.

Helge Muenkel

Helge is the Chief Sustainability Officer at DBS. He is responsible for developing DBS' overarching sustainability framework and driving ESG initiatives across the bank. He also chairs the DBS Sustainability Council, which comprises senior leaders across business and support units.

Prior to joining DBS, Helge was Head of Asia Pacific, Sustainable Finance and Global Capital Markets at ING, where he worked for 10 years. In this role, he successfully grew the bank's regional business of sustainability-related advisory services and sustainable finance transactions across products. He was also part of ING's global Sustainable Finance and Capital Markets management teams as well as the bank's global Sustainable Finance Quality Board. Before that, he spent more than 12 years in various roles at Deutsche Bank AG and UniCredit Group being based in different cities across Europe, the US and Asia Pacific.

He also represents DBS in several global and regional working groups such as the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Industry Advisory Panel of the ASEAN's Joint Sustainable Finance Working Group and the MAS-convened Green Finance Industry Taskforce. He is also appointed as alternate director in Climate Impact X Pte Ltd, a Singapore based global carbon market and exchange.

Helge holds a Master's Degree in Economics from Munich University (major in Developing Economics) as well as a postgraduate degree in sustainability from Cambridge University. He is also a CFA charter holder.

Herry Cho

Ms Herry Cho drives SGX Group's sustainability and sustainable finance strategic direction and implementation, to transform SGX and its ecosystem into a world-class, trusted multi-asset sustainable exchange. Ms. Cho is in the steering group for Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), is a member of the Taskforce for Nature Related Finance Disclosure (TNFD), and is on the Management Advisory Board of the National University of Singapore's Sustainable and Green Finance Institute.

Ms Cho pioneered in the development of APAC's sustainable finance markets, in her former role as the Head of Sustainable Finance APAC at an international European bank. She further helped shape the international market standards serving on the Executive Committee of the ICMA-hosted Green Bond Principles, and on the APLMA's Green and Sustainable Finance Committee. Ms Cho holds Bachelors and Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, UK.

James Lam

Since his graduation, Mr. Lam has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and specialises in civil (geotechnical and coastal) engineering design, procurement and project management.

His past projects consist of many large-scale infrastructure and reclamation projects, where he undertook both planning, design and supervisory roles.

Mr. Lam is currently managing the ongoing mega scale port development projects at Tuas, which will be one of the largest scale and deepest ports in the world when completed. He is also managing the reclamation work to expand Jurong Island, to cater for the industrial development in Singapore and coastal resilience projects in light of climate change impacts such as sea-level rise and intense rainfall. Besides the many engineering challenges involved, he must co-ordinate amongst these projects to facilitate the space and time constraints to allow all projects to progress well within the near vicinity to each other. Proper planning and supervision was essential to complete these projects.

Mr. Lam's strength lies in his strong geotechnical, reclamation and coastal Engineering background and knowledge. He had supervised large scale soil investigation and instrumentation works using advance technological equipment like the radio-isotope cone and specialised laboratory stress path tests. He had carried out numerous soil improvement works especially with the use of prefabricated vertical drains to accelerate consolidation in soft compressible soils.

Besides his engineering expertise, Mr. Lam is also highly conversant with Contract Administration and Project Management having successfully completed large-scale projects involving many stakeholders and international Contractors.

Jonathan Jong

Jonathan Jong is Group Chief Sustainability Officer for ComfortDelGro Corporation. He is responsible for steering sustainability efforts across the ComfortDelGro Group, and for ensuring sustainability is strategically integrated into all aspects of the business and operations. Jonathan is also the Group's Chief Risk Officer. Prior to his appointment, Mr Jong spent nine years leading various service lines, including Sustainability Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Integrated Assurance, Major Projects and Infrastructure Advisory for a Big Four professional services firm in Singapore, and 11 years in London as a project management consultant. He has worked on some of the world's largest and most complex transportation and infrastructure projects in Singapore and the United Kingdom. He graduated with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London, and is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Certified Project Manager.

Josh Tetrick is CEO & co-founder of Eat Just, Inc., a food technology company with a mission to build a healthier, safer and more sustainable food system in our lifetimes. The company's expertise, from functionalizing plant proteins to culturing animal cells, is powered by a world-class team of scientists and chefs spanning more than a dozen research disciplines. Eat Just created one of America's fastest-growing egg brands, which is made entirely of plants, and the world's first-to-market meat made from animal cells instead of slaughtered livestock. Prior to founding Eat Just, Tetrick led a United Nations business initiative in Kenya and worked for both former President Clinton and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. As Fulbright Scholar, Tetrick taught schoolchildren in Nigeria and South Africa and is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Michigan Law School. Tetrick has been named one of Fast Company's "Most Creative People in Business," Inc.'s "35 Under 35" and Fortune's "40 Under 40." Eat Just has been recognized as one of Fast Company's "Most Innovative Companies," Entrepreneur's "100 Brilliant Companies," CNBC's "Disruptor 50" and a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.

Julie Greene

Julie Greene is committed to responsible private sector development as a means to socio-economic progress. As Chief Sustainability Officer at Olam Agri, she promotes strategies that are good for society, good for the environment and good for business.

The cotton business that Julie built under Olam in Cote d'Ivoire from 2008-2013 improved the livelihoods and well-being of over 15,000 farm families. It has been featured in the Financial Times This is Africa; as a as 'best practice' in BBC presenter Conor Woodman's 2011 book, 'Unfair Trade;' and was a 2016 finalist for the 'Responsible Business Awards' organized by Business in the Community.

In Sierra Leone from 2003-2007, Julie provided business advisory services to ex-combatants and managed village infrastructure projects with German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and supported relief programmes at International Rescue Committee (IRC).

Her passion for bringing out people's potential has led her to launch a women's network for Olam in Africa, promote social cohesion through art in Sierra Leone and teach prisoners in the U.S.

Julie holds an MBA from HEC, University of Geneva, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College, U.S.A. A resident of West Africa for nearly two decades, Julie resides in Singapore as of 2022.

Julie serves as Chairperson of the African Cotton Foundation and previously represented Olam on the boards of Better Cotton Initiative and ComCashew.

Kate Yeo

Kate's environmental journey began in 2018 as the founder of Bring Your Own Bottle SG, a campaign aiming to transform the culture of disposables in Singapore. She currently also serves as a core team member of Singapore Youth for Climate Action and a member of the UN Environment Programme's Major Group for Children and Youth. Through these different platforms, Kate enjoys organising events centred on climate justice and community building. She hopes to make the environmental movement more accessible and inclusive to all.

Kelvin Chiu is the Founder and Principal of Silverstrand Capital, a Singapore-based single family office with an impact mandate focused on addressing the biodiversity crisis. The investment strategy prioritises systems-levels investment solutions that accelerate the widescale restoration and conservation of natural ecosystems. Working with a range of public and private organisations, Silverstrand launched The Biodiversity Accelerator+ in May 2022, Asia's first accelerator programme designed to support biodiversity-enhancing early stage companies.

As Executive Director of the Resilient Cities Network, Lauren Sorkin leads global efforts in 100 cities in over 40 countries to deal with complex challenges including climate change, access to equitable opportunities and promoting a circular economy. Lauren serves as an advisor and spokesperson on urban resilience, women's leadership sustainable finance, climate risk, and urbanization trends. She is on the Advisory Board of Food Tank, Natural Capital and Smart Cities World Editorial Advisory Board. Previously with the ADB, Lauren led the Bank's first climate change investment plan, before mainstreaming climate risks and opportunities for Vietnam's US$7 billion portfolio. Earlier in her career, she delivered clean energy, climate change and conservation projects in Asia, Africa and South America.

Mr Teng Yong Low is a Branch Head at the Risk Assessment & Communications Department in the Singapore Food Agency's National Centre for Food Science. He is responsible for the development of the regulatory framework for novel foods, and has been involved in the safety assessment of new food ingredients such as microbial proteins and cultured meat. He received a MSc in Food Safety from Wageningen University and has a background in food science and technology.

Mike Ng

Mike currently heads up the Sustainability Office in Global Wholesale Banking at OCBC. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving the sustainability strategy across the corporate and commercial banking segments, and working with clients in their transitions to a low carbon economy. Before taking on this role at the Sustainability Office, Mike headed up the project and structured financing business in OCBC, where he originated and executed project financing, cross-border export financing, and event-driven financing across a wide range of industries including renewable energy and utilities, telecommunication and general infrastructure.

Prior to joining OCBC, Mike was in the project and structured financing business functions in various financial institutions including Royal Bank of Scotland (Hong Kong) and ABN AMRO (Hong Kong).

Wei Siang is the Deputy Director for Sustainability Office at Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), where he oversees MPA's sustainability efforts for the maritime sector. Earlier this year, MPA released The Maritime Singapore Decarbonisation Blueprint 2050 which sets ambitious targets and charts concrete long-term strategies to build a sustainable maritime sector. Prior to this, Wei Siang was with Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he oversaw the development of the energy sector in Singapore. Peter Leong Bin Chia

Prof Benjamin William Cashore

Prof Benjamin Cashore holds the Li Ka Shing Chair in Public Management at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and is director of LKYSPP's Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES). He specialises in global and multi-level environmental governance, comparative public policy, and transnational business regulation/corporate environmental social governance (ESG) innovations. His substantive research interests include climate policy, biodiversity conservation/land use change, and sustainable environmental management of forests and related agricultural sectors. His geographic focus includes Southeast Asia, North America, Latin America and Europe. Cashore's theoretical interests include the potential of anticipatory policy design for identifying path dependent policy mixes capable of ameliorating "super wicked" environmental problems; the legitimacy and authority requirements of non-state market driven (NSMD) global governance; and the influence of economic globalisation on domestic environmental policies.

Prof Koh Lian Pin

Prof. Koh brings twenty years of international research experience in the field of sustainability and environmental science, having worked in institutions across Switzerland, Australia and the United States. He was formerly a Swiss National Science Foundation Professor at ETH Zurich, the Chair of Applied Ecology and Conservation at the University of Adelaide, and Vice President of Science Partnerships and Innovation at Conservation International Foundation.

In 2020, Prof. Koh returned to Singapore under the National Research Foundation's Returning Singaporean Scientists scheme to join the Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore. He is the Director of the University's Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions, the Director of the University's Tropical Marine Science Institute and Co-Director of NUS Deltares. Prof Koh is also the Vice Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Science.

Additionally, Prof. Koh is one of the most highly cited conservation scientists in Asia, a TED-Global speaker, Founding Director of ConservationDrones.org and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. He is also a nominated Member of Parliament.

Professor Joyashree Roy

Joyashree Roy is the Director of the South and Southeast Asia Multidisciplinary Research Network on Transforming Societies of Global South at AIT, Thailand. She is coordinating lead author of Demand, Services and social aspects of mitigation, IPCC Sixth Assessment report and also in Special report 1.5 on Sustainable Development, Poverty Eradication and Reducing Inequality. She was Professor of Economics at Jadavpur University and Bangabnadhu chair professor in AIT. She is national fellow of the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research. She was Ford Foundation Post Doctoral Fellow at LBNL, Berkeley, USA. A Founding advisor of the two multiyear projects: Global Change Programme and Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund Project at Jadavpur University. Recipient of 2021 Paradigm award of The Breakthrough Institute, USA. She is in the 2012 winning team of Prince Sultan Bin Aziz award for water and also in the team of scientists of IPCC which is the co-sharer of 2007 Nobel peace prize. Ramachandran Srinivasan

Ramachandran Srinivasan has been a Senior Principal Investigator with Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory Ltd (TLL) since 2002. At TLL, his lab focuses on various aspects of plant biotechnology research to sustainably increase the yield and stress tolerance of plants like Jatropha, a low-cost biodiesel feedstock, rice and leafy vegetables.

Ramachandran Srinivasan was concurrently Chief Technology Officer at JOil Pvt. Ltd. from 2008 to 2021 where he spearheaded a breeding programme for the development of commercial Jatropha varieties. Ramachandran Srinivasan also headed JOil's Africa expansion, including the establishment of its first commercial scale Jatropha project in Ghana where he successfully and sustainably transformed marginal lands into viable Jatropha plantations involving both captive and outgrower plantations.

Prior to joining TLL, Ramachandran Srinivasan was with the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology and later the Institute of Molecular Agrobiology, Singapore, where he headed its Rice Functional Genomics programme. Ramachandran Srinivasan obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from University of Idaho, USA.

Ravi Menon

Mr Ravi Menon was appointed Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2011. He was previously Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr Menon began his career at MAS in 1987. During his 16 years in MAS, he was involved in monetary policy; econometric forecasting; organisational development; banking regulation and liberalisation; and integrated supervision of complex financial institutions. Mr Menon spent a year at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, as a member of the secretariat to the Financial Stability Forum. A recipient of the Singapore Government's Meritorious Service Medal and Public Administration (Gold) Medal, Mr Menon has served on a variety of boards in the public, private, and people sectors in Singapore. On the international front, Mr Menon chairs the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System as well as the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero APAC Network Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Steering Committee. Mr Menon holds a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Rebecca Abramson

Rebecca is an Associate Partner with McKinsey and co-leads the Sustainable Finance practice in Southeast Asia. She has expertise in helping financial institutions understand and assess climate risks, develop net zero targets and strategies, and realize opportunities in sustainable finance.

Over her years in consulting, Rebecca has worked with some of the largest financial institutions across Southeast Asia and Australia on a range of strategic and analytical topics, across retail and business banking, corporate banking, finance, risk and technology. Sandeep Chamling Rai is the Senior Advisor on Global Climate Adaptation Policy of WWF Climate and Energy Practice based in WWF Singapore. He leads the WWF global network work on climate change adaptation. He has almost two decades of working experience on climate change adaptation and loss and damage at the national and international levels.

He has been actively participating in the UN Climate Change Negotiation process (UNFCCC) since 2003. He has led WWF policy and advocacy work on Adaptation and Loss and Damage in the UNFCCC process. He is also a member of the Expert Group of Non-Economic Loss (NEL) under the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage since 2020.

Sarah Tam

Sarah Tam is the Climate Collective Programme Lead at Asia Philanthropy Circle, a membership organisation for Asia-based philanthropists to learn, exchange and collaborate. She oversees the APC Climate Collective -- a two-year programme for philanthropists to build their capacity for strategic climate action and engage in collaborative efforts to address climate change causes and impacts in Southeast Asia. Prior to APC, Sarah spent over two years with a Singapore-based impact investing firm managing the company's education arm and digital impact measurement platform. Sarah holds a Master's degree in Geography and Environmental Management and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies (International Development) from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Sean Tan

Sean Tan is the Founder & CEO of Insect Feed Technologies, Singapore's leading insect technology company with a growing presence in Southeast Asia and the Middle-East.

Under his leadership, the company is currently building its first commercial facility in Singapore. Once operational, it would be Singapore's largest waste-to-insect production facility. The startup was most notably conferred the Singapore President's Social Enterprise Startup of the Year Award and the National Environment Agency's Waste Valorisation Award in 2021.

Previously, he was in Enterprise Singapore. During his time there, he helped to grow the startup ecosystem and oversee Singapore's heartland enterprise development. He was also posted to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he helped Singaporean companies expand in the Middle-East.

Sean is not new to the startup scene, having spent time working in high-growth startups such as Uber and Coffee Meets Bagel. He graduated from the Singapore Management University.

Shari Friedman

Shari Friedman leads Eurasia Group's Climate and Sustainability practice, focusing on environmental and social policies and trends affecting energy companies, industrial production, retail, supply chains, technology companies, agribusiness, and financial institutions. Shari and the team work across regions and sectors to help clients understand the evolving policies and how they will affect clients' business today and in the future.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Shari worked in climate and sustainability for over 25 years. She began working for the U.S. government during the Kyoto negotiations and moved to venture capital, consulting and banking. Most recently Shari worked at IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, where she led corporate-wide climate strategy and managed a team of industry specialists focused on renewable energy, green buildings, battery storage, sustainable waste, electric vehicles, low-carbon cities, and emerging green technologies such as hydrogen and CCSU. Shari received a bachelor's degree in political science and music from Tufts University, and a master's in public policy from Georgetown University. She has received course training in finance and capital markets, as well as solar PV and wind installation and biodiesel production.

As Chief Commercial Officer at Hashstacs, Sharon is responsible for shaping the commercial and business strategy at Hashstacs. With more than 20 years of banking and fintech experience, Sharon began her career in banking and held positions in FX and Sales trading at major financial institutions including Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Mizuho, SMBC and UOB. Following her banking career, Sharon held strategic sales positions at IHS Markit, a leading information services provider. She was later appointed as Head of ASEAN Sales at R3, a leader in enterprise blockchain technology.

Swati Mandloi is a member of the Singapore Youth for Climate Action (SYCA) and leads the advocacy group's international climate change negotiations. She was one of the youth delegates in the Singapore contingent who attended COP26 in Glasgow this year.

Swati is also managing the green group's climate engagement programme at WWF-Singpaore, which helps companies in Singapore decarbonise. Working with companies on platforms such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which aligns corporate emissions with the Paris Agreement on climate change.

Terese (she/her) is an undergraduate student majoring in environmental science and public policy at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2018, Terese has engaged in various forms of environmental outreach and advocacy, such as organising plastic-free outreach activities, campaigning for fossil fuel divestment, and emceeing nature writing performances. Vinamra Srivastava

Mr. Vinamra Srivastava, Chief Sustainability Officer of CapitaLand Investment (CLI), is responsible for formulating and integrating the Group's ESG strategy, policies and best practices into its global business and operations to achieve its sustainability targets, deliver long-term economic value to stakeholders and foster a culture of sustainability across the organization.

Vishal Agarwal is a Senior Partner in McKinsey's Singapore office and leads the firm's Energy and Environment Sustainability work in Southeast Asia, where he advises and serves leading businesses across the energy and process manufacturing sectors.

In his 16 years with McKinsey, Vishal has worked with clients across Australia, China, India, and Southeast Asia to implement holistic transformations. Over the past few years he has worked to reduce carbon intensity of these operations as well as help identify new growth opportunities for his clients in the context of decarbonisation and broader sustainability.

Prior to his current role, Mr Pathak was IFC's Regional Director for East Asia and Pacific, where he led operations across 18 countries, reaching $4.2 billion in long-term investment in fiscal year 2020. Yan Ru Tan

Yan Ru is the Chief of Staff and Vice-President of Programmes at Quantedge Advancement Initiative (QAI), a philanthropic organisation that funds international charitable and climate initiatives. She oversees QAI's grant-making activities in the areas of Climate Change Action and Global Health and Development, with the aim of delivering impactful solutions to environmental and social challenges by focusing on areas where QAI can achieve the largest amount of impact per dollar disbursed. Prior to QAI, Yan Ru spent nine years in the Singapore public sector, where she covered portfolios in economic relations, international trade negotiations, and public finance. As Assistant Minister of Environment, she supported the Minister of Environment in preparation of Africa portfolio for the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt in his capacity as Coordinator of Committee of African Heads of States for Climate Change (CAHOSCC) from 2015-2017.

She has represented the AMCEN President in the Steering Committee of the Clim-Dev Africa and has been a co-chair of the NEPAD Regional Flagship Programmes Steering committee as well as Lima Climate Finance meeting in 2015.

Yuki Yasui

Yuki is the Director overseeing the Asia Pacific (APAC) Network for the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) which was launched in June 2022. She is focused on bringing together the financial sector across developed and emerging APAC to accelerate an inclusive and just transition to a net-zero economy.

Prior to joining GFANZ, she was at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Finance Initiative for 20 years and leading its activities in Asia Pacific for the last four years. She has represented UNEP FI at all three major sustainability reporting initiatives, GRI, IIRC and SASB, at various points in time. Other projects include developing and running the UNEP FI online course on climate change for the finance sector and representation at Rio+20.

She is a qualified chartered accountant in the UK (ICAEW) and trained and worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is currently based in Singapore and has worked in Bangkok, Geneva and London.

She leads the Bank's responsible financing and net zero frameworks, advises on environmental and social issues pertaining to transactions, combining due diligence expertise with business origination capabilities. Yulanda was previously Group Head of Sustainable Finance at Standard Chartered in London. Before joining the banking sector, she was an equity analyst for the mining and metals sector at RobecoSAM in Zurich, where she was part of a pioneering team incorporating environmental and social factors into equity valuations. She is a trustee at think tank TransitionZero, which provides analytics for the power and heavy industries and is a founding partner of the Al Gore-backed coalition Climate TRACE. She was formerly a board member at ASrIA, which was integrated into the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. Anshari Rahman

Anshari is a Vice President in the Strategy & Development Group at GenZero, and he is responsible for providing thought leadership on policy, regulations and standards in support of GenZero's investment activities.

Before GenZero, he was a climate change negotiator with the National Climate Change Secretariat under the Prime Minister's Office. He had represented the Singapore Government at various multilateral fora such as the UNFCCC, UNCBD, IPCC and ASEAN. In total, Anshari has accumulated over 10 years of experience in multilateral negotiations and policymaking.

Ann's career started at the World Economic Forum where she led the Europe department and spans more than two decades of experience in high-level public policy and strategy, operating at the intersection of technology, innovation, foresight, and entrepreneurship. An entrepreneur at heart, she set up her own think tank which she ran for more than a decade. Ann is a frequent speaker at high-level conferences and has been widely published and quoted in key media outlets, such as the FT, The Economist, Wall Street Journal, and International New York Times.

Shailendra is a conservation and ecology scientist passionate about developing nature-based solutions. Dr Mishra holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore in climate and environmental science and deciphering the ecological drivers of tropical peatland oxidation leading to greenhouse gas emissions. He has extensive experience of ~12 years in the field of conservation, restoration, sustainable agriculture, above- and below-ground (soil) carbon, green finance, waste-to-valorisation, and climate change across APAC and EU regions.

Jenny Davis-Peccoud

Jenny Davis-Peccoud joined Bain & Company in 1992 and is a partner in the firm's Amsterdam office. Jenny heads Bain's Global Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility practice.

With her clients, Jenny advises multi-national companies across sectors on how to tackle social and environmental issues at the heart of their core businesses. She has a particular focus on the food value chain, from agriculture to consumer products to retail, and the systems solutions needed to drive lasting change.

Jenny also directs Bain's research program into topics such as the change management challenge of sustainability programs and the role of sustainability in employee engagement. Carlos Eduardo Correa is a Lui-Walton Senior Fellow at Conservation International, providing strategic counsel to CI's leadership to support institutional priorities - natural climate solutions, ocean conservation at scale and nature-positive economies - in a just and inclusive way. As Colombia's former Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Carlos builds on years of leadership to help advance critical policy goals and shared priorities. He championed Colombia's efforts toward carbon neutrality and nature-positive outcomes, including leading the development of the country's carbon neutrality strategy and strengthening Nationally Determined Contributions to the Paris climate agreement. Carlos also furthered initiatives, such as launching a 30x30 campaign and the national roadmap towards carbon neutrality by 2050.

Luis Donaldo Colosio

Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas (Magdalena de Kino, Sonora; July 31st, 1985) is a husband, father and since 2021 the Mayor of the City of Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León and center of the second largest metropolitan area in Mexico. His vision for Monterrey is to turn it into the most humane, innovative and sustainable city in the country through the reunification of the citizens and the government, placing people at the center of decisions and urban design.

He has a Law Degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Tec de Monterrey). As an academic, he has been an active member of professional associations and a professor of Law at various educational institutions. As an entrepreneur, he is co-founder of Komenko, a legal advice platform for entrepreneurs and founding partner of the law firm, "Basave, Colosio, Sánchez Abogados".

He began his public career as a Local Deputy in the LXXV Legislature of the H. Congress of the State of Nuevo León (2018-2021) where he chaired and led the Commission for Social Development, Human Rights and Indigenous Affairs. Tyler Christie is Managing Director for Decarbonization Partners, a BlackRock and Temasek JV that invests in the next generation of innovative decarbonization solutions and businesses, to accelerate global efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Tyler has been an investor, entrepreneur and advisor focused on climate change for over 20 years. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2022, he was an investor and advisor at EQT focused on venture and growth stage climate technology investments. Tyler also co-founded Natural Capital Advisors, investing in over 15 climate technology startups and funds and advising global organizations on sustainability, and Parla, a digital startup recently acquired by Holland & Barrett.

Tyler started his career as a data scientist using satellite imagery to measure and monitor land use and climate change working across Africa, Latin America and Asia for Conservation International. Herlina Hartanto is the Executive Director of Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN), The Nature Conservancy's Indonesian affiliate, and a global expert on community-based approaches to tropical forest conservation. She joined TNC in 2010 as the Terrestrial Program Learning and Application Senior Manager. Less than a year later, Herlina led the Community Forest and Protected Area teams before officially becoming the Community and Protected Area Senior Manager in May 2012. She was elevated to Executive Director of YKAN in June 2020. In her previous role as YKAN Terrestrial Program Director, she led work to conserve forest ecosystems through sustained engagement with a coalition of local communities, companies, and local and national governments.

Lia Nicholson

Lia Nicholson is a climate negotiator and Senior Advisor to the 39 countries of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) in the United Nations. She has worked at the interface of national and local government, business, and civil society across the Caribbean, West Africa and Pacific for nearly a decade to accelerate the net zero carbon and climate resilient transition. Lia received her Masters of Environmental Management from Yale University, is a TEDx speaker and was recognized by Queen Elizabeth for climate leadership.

Franck Gbaguidi

Franck covers geopolitical risk across a range of sustainability issues, with a focus on climate change, biodiversity policy, water resources, and environmental litigation. As a member of Eurasia Group's Energy, Climate & Resources (ECR) practice, Franck helps public and private sector organizations understand evolving sustainability trends and supports them in the design of solutions that turn political risks into opportunities.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Franck held multiple energy and climate-related positions within the World Bank Group. Most recently, he was the Climate Adviser to the Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He also undertook research and consultancy work on carbon risk management for the European Investment Bank (EIB), clean and domestic energy solutions for the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), energy policy in North America for the Centre on Global Energy Policy (CGEP), and environmental crimes in Sub-Saharan Africa for the Earth Institute.

Dr Nilufer Oral

Dr Nilüfer Oral is Director of the Centre for International Law. Dr Oral has over 20 years of experience in the study, teaching and practice of international law. She has been a member of the Law Faculty at Istanbul Bilgi University since 1998. In 2016, she was elected by the UN General Assembly to the International Law Commission where she is co-chair of the study group on sea level rise in relation to international law. She has been nominated by Turkey to the International Law Commission (2022-2027). She has advised the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Turkey on matters related to the law of the sea and climate change, and served as a climate change negotiator between 2009 and 2016, and attended meetings held by the International Maritime Organization. She has also appeared before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

Dr Oral has worked with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). She was elected as a member to the IUCN Council (2012-2016) and was co-chair of the Specialist Group on Oceans, Coasts and Coral Reefs (2006-2016). She has also served as chair of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law (2013-2016). She is currently a member of the governing board of the International Council on Environmental Law (ICEL) and the steering committee of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law.

Dr Oral is distinguished senior scholar at the Law of the Sea Institute at the University of California, Berkeley's Law School. She was scholar-in-residence at the University of Virginia's Law School in 2005 and has lectured on several occasions at the Rhodes Academy of Oceans Law and Policy. Dr Oral has been a guest lecturer at the CIL Distinguished Speakers Series and a research consultant to the CIL Ocean Law and Policy programme. Dr Oral has also been involved as a legal expert on a number of projects with the EU, UNEP, UNDP and the Turkish Science Council on marine environmental and climate change issues.

Malcolm Dalesa

Malcolm Dalesa is the Climate Attache. Dalesa had previously served at the Department of Strategic Policy, Planning and Aid Coordination (DSPPAC) under the Prime Minister's Office. Dalesa has worked in various units of the Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) for many years and also served as the United Nations Development Programme Pacific Risk Resilience Project Country Coordinator for several years.

Dalesa contributed to the establishment of the National Advisory Board (NAB) Secretary for Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction. He was working as an Health Environment Officer at the Port Vila Municipal Council for over 12 years, after graduating from university

Prof Payam Akhavan

Payam Akhavan, LLB (Osgoode), LLM SJD (Harvard), is Senior Fellow at Massey College, Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague, and Special Advisor on Genocide to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. He was previously Full Professor at McGill University Faculty of Law (2005-20) and Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow at European University Institute, with other appointments at Yale Law School, Oxford University, Université Paris Nanterre, Sciences Po École de Droit, and Leiden University. He has published extensively on international criminal law and in 2017 he delivered the CBC Massey Lectures. Professor Akhavan was the first Legal Advisor to the Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (1994-2000) and also served with the UN in Bosnia, Cambodia, Guatemala, Rwanda, and Timor Leste. He has served as counsel in notable cases before the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, the European Court of Human Rights, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He also serves as Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Global Affairs of Canada on the Flight PS752 tragedy, is Senior Fellow and Canadian Co-Chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, and Co-Founder of the Iran Human Rights Documentation Centre. He is recipient of the 2021 Human Rights Award of the Law Society of Ontario and his human rights work has been featured in the New York Times, BBC HARDtalk, CBC Ideas, Maclean's, and other media.

Prof Margaretha Wewerinke-Singh

Margaretha's research broadly speaking addresses the role of law in addressing sustainable development challenges, with a focus on climate change and human rights. Prior to joining Leiden University, she was a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Law at the University of the South Pacific (USP) School of Law in Port Vila, Vanuatu, where she coordinated USP's environmental law programme. She is the editor of Environmental Law and Governance in the Pacific: Climate Change, Biodiversity and Communities (with Evan Hamman, Routledge 2020), which navigates the major environmental law and governance challenges of the present and future of the Pacific. Her other book, State Responsibility, Climate Change and Human Rights under International Law (Hart Publishing 2019) explains when and where State action related to climate change may amount to a violation of human rights. She has numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in international law and interdisciplinary journals. In 2018 she received an NWO Veni-grant for her project 'Climate Justice through the Courts' (2019-2023), which uses socio-legal research to investigate the effectiveness and potential drawbacks of rights-based climate litigation. She remains affiliated with USP as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Environmental Law at the Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development.

Margaretha's research builds on more than fifteen years of involvement in legal processes related to sustainable development and human rights. Amongst other things, she has acted as a legal adviser to governments at international climate change negotiations, represented non-governmental organisations at the UN Human Rights Council, and advised the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on the nexus between climate change and human rights. She currently leads the global team assisting the Republic of Vanuatu in its pursuit of an advisory opinion on climate change from the International Court of Justice (with Julian Aguon) and serves on the Committee of Legal Experts of the Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law, which is mandated to promote and contribute to the definition, implementation and progressive development of rules and principles of international law pertaining to climate change. Further, she leads the IUCN WCEL Climate Change Specialist Group project Judicial Handbook on Climate Litigation (with Sarah Mead), which identifies emerging best practice in the adjudication of climate change. She is an Attorney at Blue Ocean Law, a boutique international law firm based in Guam, the Deputy Regional Director for Europe of the Global Network on Human Rights and the Environment, and a member of the Editorial Board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Environmental Law and the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Journal of International Law.

Margaretha holds a PhD from the European University Institute, a European Master's in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA) from the European Inter-University Centre on Human Rights and Democratisation, a Graduate LLB from Nottingham Law School and a BA (Philosophy) and BSc (Cultural Anthropology & Development Studies) from the Radboud University. She received a Lord Justice Holker Award from the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn (London) and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2014.

Danielle Yeow

Danielle's experience spans across a range of public international law issues including trade and investment, environment and climate change, international security including international cyber norms, human rights, law of the sea and sanctions and compliance matters. She has advised and represented the Singapore Government at international negotiations and dispute resolution. Danielle was lead counsel in multiple negotiations at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade negotiations. In the same capacity, she also helmed recent UNFCC and Paris Agreement climate change talks and a WTO panel proceeding (as third party). She was also an advisor to the Singapore in the Case concerning Land Reclamation by Singapore in and around the Straits of Johor (Malaysia v Singapore) before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

Akihiro Nishimura

Mr. Nishimura was born in 1960 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He graduated from the Graduate School of Political Science at Waseda University. After teaching at Waseda University and other academic institutions, he served as policy secretary to a member of the House of Representatives and secretary to the Minister of Finance. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in November 2003, running for Miyagi District 3. After serving as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for the Cabinet Office, State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, State Minister of Reconstruction, State Minister for the Cabinet Office, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary and Chair of the Committee on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, he was appointed Minister of the Environment and Minister of State for Nuclear Emergency Preparedness in August 2022.

Ekkaphab Phanthavong

H.E. Ekkaphab Phanthavong is appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of ASEAN for Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) from 2021 to 2024.

He supports the Secretary-General of ASEAN in the implementation of the ASCC Blueprint 2025 and leads the ASCC Department of the ASEAN Secretariat. He oversees the implementation of projects under ASCC that focus on forging a common identity and building a caring and sharing society.

DSG Phanthavong has served numerous appointments at the Lao PDR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). Before assuming his current role, he was the Ambassador/ Permanent Representative of Lao PDR to ASEAN from 2018-2021. Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Director-General of the ASEAN Department at the Lao PDR MOFA.

DSG Phanthavong holds an MA in International Relations from Flinders University, South Australia and a diploma in English Language from the Pedagogical University of Vientiane, Laos.

Dr Kazuhiko Takemoto

Dr. Takemoto is President of the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC) and is affiliated with the University of Tokyo IFI as Project Professor. Prior to joining OECC, he was Director of United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) for six (6) years from 2014. Before serving for the UNU, he developed national policies on global environment and sustainable development as Vice-Minister for Global Environment Affairs, Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ). Dr. Takemoto served for UNFCCC/COP3 (1997) as Special Assistant to its President, CBD/COP10 as its Alternate President (2010) and OECD/EPOC as Vice Chair (2004-07). He is currently Vice Chair of the IIASA Council, President of International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) and ICLEI-Japan.

Mona Sur

Mona Sur is the Practice Manager for Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy in East Asia. She manages a team. Immediately prior to this she was Operations Manager for the World Bank's Papua New Guinea and Pacific Islands department overseeing a program of financing and technical assistance for the Bank's 12 Pacific Island member countries.

Prior to that, she held various positions in the World Bank's Global Agriculture and Food Practice and has worked across East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia and Europe and Central Asia. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota, which provides financing, technical assistance, and knowledge solutions in areas such as climate change, forests and landscapes, circular economy, pollution management, blue economy and environmental policies and institutions in Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao PDR.

Makoto Kato

Makoto Kato is a Member, Board of Directors, the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC). After started his work at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), he has been engaged in cooperation with developing countries on climate change around 20 years. Currently he has supervised the PaSTI bilateral and regional programmes to support institutional capacity building for GHG reporting and developing the ASEAN Guidelines. He has participated in the UN climate negotiation as part of the Delegation of Japan since COP10 in 2004, and took the lead in drafting the Article 11 (Capacity-building) and 12 (Action for Climate Empowerment) in the Paris Agreement.

Hiroka Watarai

Ms. Hiroka WATARAI is a researcher at the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC). She is actively engaged in multilateral environmental cooperation, particularly in air quality management and GHG emission reductions, drawing on her experience in the field of development cooperation in the Middle Eastern countries. She works in practice with relevant partners to develop information platform for the PaSTI-JAIF project deliverables.

Albert Altarejos Magalang

Mr. Magalang is presently the Chief of the Climate Change Service of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. He is a regular member of the Philippine delegation to the sessions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and as the country representative in the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change.

He served as the Asia-Pacific regional representative to the UNFCCC-DNA Forum Chairing Committee; and as global Co-Chair representing the developing countries. He is the Philippines' lead negotiator on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and served as the co-facilitator of the negotiations on Article 12 (or the Action on Climate Empowerment).

Andrew Saw

Andrew Saw holds a Bachelor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering degree conferred by Singapore's Nanyang Technological University in 2020.

After graduation Andrew joined the National Environment Agency (NEA) and is currently an Executive Engineer in the Carbon Mitigation Division. His portfolio includes managing Singapore's engagements in the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC). Under the AWGCC, Andrew works closely with international development partners (such as UNDP, UNFCCC, OECC, World Bank) to develop and implement projects to enhance the capability of ASEAN member states to consider carbon pricing mechanisms.

Besides AWGCC projects, Andrew is also involved in work to operationalize Article 6 in Singapore. This includes establishing robust MRV mechanisms for international carbon credits via MOUs with CORSIA- approved international crediting programmes. In July 2022, NEA signed MOUs with Gold Standard and Verra.

As Technical Lead in the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) Secretariat, Ronan leads work on net-zero transition planning and analysis of the energy transition and its implications for the financial sector. Ronan joined the GFANZ Secretariat in December 2021 having worked to establish GFANZ when Head of Risk Management & Returns in the COP26 Private Finance Hub led by Mark Carney in his roles as UN special envoy on Climate Action & Finance and as the UK Prime Minister's finance advisor for COP26. Ronan is on secondment from the Bank of England and has worked in the financial sector since 2003.
