Agriculture today has a large impact on the atmosphere, biosphere and hydrosphere – from accounting for approximately 70% of global freshwater withdrawal, to the use of synthetic fertilisers that are responsible for 2.1% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Left unabated, unsustainable agricultural practices will threaten crop yield and global food supply resilience.
