The Economics of Water: Valuing the Hydrological Cycle as a Global Common Good

The global water crisis hurts the most vulnerable first, but no community or economy will be spared the consequences of a water cycle out of kilter. Most dangerously, we will fail on climate change if we fail on water. 

The Global Commission on the Economics of Water outlines in its flagship report the new economics of water, which begins by recognising that the water cycle must now be governed as a global common good, that can only be fixed collectively, through concerted action in every country, collaboration across boundaries and cultures, and for benefits that will be felt everywhere.
