Growing Singapore’s Carbon Services and Trading Ecosystem

Singapore is situated at the heart of global carbon trade flows. With over 150 carbon services and trading firms, Singapore is emerging as a leading carbon services and trading hub, and has launched initiatives to boost demand, unlock supply of high-quality credits and strengthen the ecosystem. These include:

Demand – Corporate Guidance
Singapore has taken steps to strengthen market integrity and confidence by introducing domestic guidance on the voluntary carbon market, offering direction on the use of carbon credits in corporate decarbonisation.

Supply - Carbon Financing
EDB introduced the Carbon Project Development Grant to support early-stage financing for Article 6-aligned projects and launched a donor-advised fund in partnership with TT Foundation Advisors for private capital owners to fund high quality Article 6 projects.

Ecosystem – Catalysing Participation
MAS launched the Financial Sector Carbon Market Scheme to support financial institutions in carbon markets activity, including financing, underwriting, and trading.
